How to join KLA

Background

The Kentucky Association of School Librarians (KASL) is an affiliate of the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) and is a section of the Kentucky Library Association (KLA). To join KASL, you must join KLA.

KASL is organized and divided into seven regions across the state. Those regions are subdivided into 13 districts, which function under their own constitutions and/or bylaws. Libraries in independent school systems, colleges, and universities, along with public school libraries, are included in these districts. Membership in one of these districts does not include membership in KASL. The 13 districts include:

How to Join KASL

1. Click on the Join/Renew link on the KLA website.

2. Scroll to the bottom of the page, enter an email, and click "Register". The email will become your username.

3. Using the drop down menu, choose the membership that best suits your employment/schooling situation:

4. Complete the form that follows the membership type.

5. Choose KASL as your primary section. (this is important)

6. OPTIONAL: Choose any additional sections or roundtables you wish to join, which will cost extra.

7. OPTIONAL: Donate to KLA's Minority Scholarship Fund.

8. Click the "Next" button to proceed.

9. Review your membership summary and click "Next" to proceed or "Previous" to edit.

10. Using the drop-down menu on the payment screen, choose "Pay Now" to pay with a credit card or "Invoice Me" to pay with a purchase order.

11. If paying by credit card, complete the form with your credit card information and submit.

If you are paying with a PO, enter your email and click the "Pay Later" button.
