Advocacy

In today's world, there is intense competition for our education dollars.  It is important for us to promote the best use of those dollars for ALL students in a unique and valuable way--the school library.

Library media specialists are information specialists, teachers, instructional partners, program administrators, and leaders.

Stay Connected

The Kentucky Association of School Librarians advocates for strong school library programs across the state. Our libraries empower students with essential literacy, research, critical thinking, and technology skills. We also help foster their creativity and curiosity.

We invite all citizens who cherish libraries and value what they offer students to join our mailing list. By signing up, you’ll receive our monthly e-newsletter featuring the latest news and developments related to school libraries in Kentucky. We’ll share key policy issues, spotlight innovative programs statewide, provide tips to support your local school libraries, and keep you updated on our association’s initiatives and events.

Your support means so much as we continue working to provide vibrant school library programs for all Kentucky students. Please sign up here to receive our mailings and partner with us to ensure that all students have access to school library services across the Commonwealth. Together we can make a real difference!
